2022/23 Closing Ceremony
We are proud to share with you the highlights of our 2022/2023 academic year closing cum graduation ceremony, which took place on July 17th at Dewan Calvary. The theme of this memorable event was "The Seasons of Life", reflecting the different phases our graduates experienced during their journey at Charis International School.
Our board of governors chairman, Mr. Radaha, welcomed the parents, teachers, and graduates who gathered at 7:00 p.m. to celebrate this special occasion. He reminded everyone that "change" is the only constant in life and urged them to be ready for future challenges, to improve their skills, and to embrace change when faced with difficulties.
Our principal, Dr. Debra Sim, also gave an inspiring speech to the graduates and students, comparing life to the cycle of the four seasons, each bringing different feelings and experiences. She encouraged them to enjoy the beauty of each season, to learn from them, and to share their wonderful experiences with others.
The ceremony was filled with amazing music and dance performances by our talented students, showcasing the changes of the four seasons and the emotions and experiences they bring. The opening performance was a dance set to several Indonesian songs accompanied by various traditional instruments as background music. The dancers performed with great skill and enthusiasm, making the dance vivid and dynamic. The handbell ensemble also presented creative renditions of "Silent Night" and "Jingle Bells" to represent winter.
After the students' performances, Dr. Debra and the relevant homeroom teachers presented graduation certificates to the graduates of the 2022/2023 academic year. The list of graduates is as follows:

We also presented various awards to outstanding students to recognize their excellent achievements in academics and extracurricular activities. These awards included the Best Academic Performance Award, Subject Improvement Awards, Sports Achievement Award, Diligence Award, and more. We are proud of their hard work and talents during the 2022/2023 academic year and we hope these awards will motivate and affirm their future paths.
Moreover, Art Teacher Mr. Chong arranged and displayed the artworks of secondary and primary school students at the back of Dewan Calvary. These art pieces were created with dedication during their regular classes, showcasing their efforts and creativity. The works covered various art forms, including watercolor, sketch, and oil painting, each representing a part of the students' life records through their everyday endeavors.
This closing cum graduation ceremony with the theme "The Seasons of Life" will remain in the memories of the graduates, inspiring them to explore the various seasons of life in the future, face challenges with courage, and enjoy the beauty each stage of life brings.
