Saturday Field Trips

Get ready for an unforgettable 3-week adventure where learning goes far beyond the classroom!

Every Saturday, students will step out on a real-world field trip experience, turning English into something they use naturally, not just study in books.

Across the 3 Saturdays, the journey includes:

  • Island Hopping Adventure – explore beautiful islands while practising English through real conversations, teamwork, and fun interactions
  • Visit to Tawau Hills Park – discover nature trails while building vocabulary through exploration and guided activities
  • Visit to Cocoa Village – learn about cocoa farming and local culture while improving English communication in real-life settings

Expected Outcomes

By the end of the camp, students are expected to speak English with increased confidence and improved fluency, use a wider range of vocabulary, and communicate more effectively in real-life situations.

Parent/Guardian Consent and Agreement

Parent or Guardian Authorisations

We hereby grant authority to the school staff involved to arrange for this child to receive medical treatment as necessary in an emergency and, as far as possible, in accordance with our instructions in any non-emergency situation. The School shall not be held liable for any medical treatment provided. All medical expenses shall be borne by us and/or our insurance provider.

We authorise the School Administrator to arrange professional medical testing if deemed advisable for health reasons or in cases of suspected substance abuse. Such decisions shall be at the sole discretion of the School Administrator. If urgent circumstances require testing without prior parental notification, the cost shall be borne by the School. All other related expenses shall be borne by us and/or our insurance provider.

Parent or Guardian Authorisation

We hereby grant permission for this child to participate in all regular teacher-supervised or parent-supervised school activities and outings. We understand that this consent form serves in place of individual permission forms that may otherwise be required throughout the school year. We release the School from liability arising from this child's participation in such activities.

We hereby give consent to the School to publish my child's name, photographs, classwork, academic achievements, and testimonials in media including, but not limited to, newspapers, brochures, banners, websites, and social media platforms.

Permission for Emergency Care

We hereby give permission for emergency measures to be initiated in the event of a serious injury or illness, including ambulance transportation to a hospital, with the understanding that I will be contacted as soon as reasonably possible. In the event of an emergency, the student will be taken to the nearest appropriate hospital.

Terms and Conditions

  • All parents/guardians are advised to read and understand the policies, terms, and conditions governing the Summer Camp at Charis International School.
  • Parents/guardians intending to enrol their child in the Summer Camp must submit both the Application Form and Parent Consent Form, fully completed, accurate, and signed. Parents/guardians must promptly notify the School of any changes to the information provided.
  • The School reserves the right, and the parent/guardian hereby authorises the School, to contact the child's previous school (where applicable), medical practitioners, or other relevant persons to obtain additional information relevant to the child's application.
  • The application fee is payable upon submission of the Application Form and is strictly non-transferable and non-refundable.
  • All school fees, miscellaneous fees, and accommodation fees (if applicable) must be paid in full within four (4) weeks of submitting application Form. These fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.
  • All fees shall be paid by telegraphic transfer, bank draft, or online transfer payable to Charis Education Sdn Bhd, Account No. 3241682535 (Public Bank Malaysia).
  • Upon payment of the application fee, the applicant may be placed on a waiting list depending on availability.
  • Placement of the child is at the sole discretion of the School. Factors considered may include the child's age, academic ability, level of achievement relative to current students, and behaviour.
  • Upon being offered a place, parents/guardians must pay the required fees by the deadline stated in the fee schedule. Late payment charges may apply if payment is not received by the specified date. Fees are subject to annual review, and the School reserves the right to revise its fee structure at any time.
  • Flight itinerary details, including arrival and departure dates and times, must be submitted to the School at least one (1) month before the Summer Camp. Failure to provide this information may result in the withdrawal of airport shuttle services.
  • While the School makes every reasonable effort to ensure the safety and well-being of students, parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to arrange adequate travel and medical insurance coverage for the duration of the Summer Camp.
  • A photocopy of the student's valid passport must be submitted together with the Application Form.
  • A photocopy of the student's travel insurance policy and travel itinerary must also be submitted with the Application Form.

Student Rules and Regulations

  1. Attendance: Students are expected to attend all scheduled activities, including educational sessions, site visits, and club activities, unless excused by a tour teacher, parent, or guardian.
  2. Punctuality: Students must arrive on time for all scheduled activities.
  3. Behaviour: Students are expected to behave respectfully towards all individuals, including tour teachers, the Principal, school staff, and fellow students. Disruptive behaviour, harassment, bullying, or any form of misconduct will not be tolerated.
  4. Curfew and Quiet Hours:
    • Curfew: 9:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
    • Quiet and Courtesy Hours: 10:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
    Students must comply with all curfew and quiet-hour requirements.
  5. Prohibited Items: Smoking, vaping, alcohol, illicit drugs, weapons, gambling materials, and pets are strictly prohibited. Random inspections may be conducted for prohibited items. Students found in possession of or under the influence of prohibited substances may face disciplinary action, including immediate dismissal from the Summer Camp.
  6. Safety: Students must prioritise their own safety and the safety of others at all times. This includes following all instructions provided by tour teachers and complying with local laws and regulations. Any incidents or concerns must be reported immediately.
  7. Property and Environment: Students are responsible for the proper care of accommodation facilities, transportation, and venues visited during the Summer Camp. Any damage caused through negligence or misconduct shall be the responsibility of the individual(s) concerned. Students are expected to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  8. Group Unity: Students are encouraged to foster cooperation, respect, and inclusiveness within the group to enhance the overall experience for everyone.
  9. Communication: Students should communicate openly and respectfully with tour teachers, the Principal, school staff, and fellow students. Any concerns, questions, or emergencies should be reported promptly.
  10. Personal Belongings: Students are responsible for keeping their personal belongings and valuables secure.
  11. Media Usage: Students are expected to access and use only age-appropriate movies, videos, computer games, music, and online content.
  12. Facilities Usage: Students must use shared facilities responsibly and considerately. Electrical appliances should be switched off and unplugged when not in use. Failure to comply may result in a warning. Continued non-compliance may incur a penalty of RM50.00 per occurrence.
  13. Room Keys: Room keys must not be duplicated or shared without permission. A replacement fee of RM15.00 will be charged for each lost key.
  14. Emergency Procedures: In the event of an emergency, students must follow the instructions of tour teachers, school staff, and emergency responders.
  15. Independent Exploration: Students are not permitted to leave the group or explore independently without prior approval from tour teachers or school staff.
  16. Compliance: Students are expected to comply with all rules and regulations established by the School, tour teachers, and local authorities. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal from the Summer Camp.
